Managing Daily Drilling Reports (DDR) has long been a time-consuming task for rig crews and operations teams. Today, we are introducing our AI Reporting Module, a new solution designed to improve the creation of DDRs by automating the compiling process, powered by advanced Generative AI technology.

A Smarter Way to Build DDRs

The AI Reporting Module automates the entire DDR workflow by combining LLM-driven intelligence with real-time rig sensor data. The system automatically reads operational comments, interprets activities, and applies the correct IADC reporting codes - all while keeping accuracy and consistency firmly in focus.

With as much as 90% of the time log auto-populated, teams gain more time to concentrate on what matters most: drilling safely and efficiently. This is not just automation - it’s a shift to a smarter, more reliable reporting process.

Key Capabilities

  • AI-Automated DDR Generation  Automatically interprets activity comments and generates detailed phase-level descriptions with minimal user input.
  • Sensor-Driven Activity Detection  Uses rig sensor data to construct precise activity timelines and operational logs, significantly reducing manual reconstruction.
  • Flexible, User-Friendly Workspace  Easily modify activities and IADC codes through an intuitive interface. Manual flat-time entries can still be added when needed - giving full control with far less effort.

With seamless integration into existing ID3 modules, the transition is straightforward for any operation.

Who Benefits Most

This innovation directly enhances the workflow of:

  • Operators & Drilling Contractors - faster review and validation cycles
  • Rig Site Personnel - reduced manual data entry and admin workload
  • QA/QC Teams - increased reporting quality, consistency, and traceability

Smarter Reporting Starts Here

The AI Reporting Module is setting a new standard for operational reporting in the energy sector. By turning complex, repetitive reporting activities into automated intelligence, we empower crews to deliver better operational performance - every day.

If you’re ready to modernize your DDR workflow or want to see the AI Reporting Module in action, our team is here to help.

ID3 Benchmark Prediction: Spotting Wellbore Issues Earlier

Prediction, the extension of ID3 Software’s Benchmark module, turns each well’s recent operating data into clear indicators of developing wellbore issues, helping drilling teams recognise unusual behaviour, understand its drivers and focus on changes that need investigation and action. The models have been tested on data from more than 100 wells, supporting their development and evaluation across a range of drilling conditions.
